A fantasy Giro
This Giro features a start in Sicily, stage finishes or starts in Amalfi, Venice, Genoa and Pisa (the four former naval powers featured on the jack of the Italian marine), finishes on the Mortirolo, Zoncolan, Monte Bondone, Tre Cime, Alp Anarosa, Fregarolo and Mottarone.
There are 8 flat stages, 3 hilly stages, 2 hill/mountain stages, 6 mountain stages and 2 individual time trials(aggregated 97km).
1 Siracusa-Messina 166km flat A flat and easy first stage with a sprint finish in Messina
2 San Nicolò-Praia a Mare 195km flat Flat sprinter stage with a little bit of a hill before the finish
3 Sapri-Amalfi 195km hill A demanding stage with a steep finish in the hills of Amalfi
4 Napoli-Foggia 163km flat A flat stage from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic Sea
